Your diligence in collecting these is appreciated. The one-legged man with the rainbow erupting from his chest is an emo album cover if ever there was one.
Once again a great collection. Thank you.Is the VonMurr link supposed to take me to pinknotdead?
Thanks folks.pinknotdead is VonMurr's site. His real name is Maurycy Gomulicki, but I call him VonMurr because of his flickr site:http://www.flickr.com/photos/vonmurr/He added details about the covers in the comments of the flickr pages. I'll add them here tonight. Will
Absolutely fantastic blog!I've been browsing your blog for the past 2 hours...definitely inspiring...R.
Brilliant stuff and great hunting. Reminds me of some of the Polish posters for American movies like the Western "Shane." Seems to be a naturally iconographic tradition.Keep up the good work!Scott, www.TheMisreadCity.com
I somehow didn't notice that the last image is of Pendragon Legend by the Hungarian Antal Szerb. I read that book! (Loved it, though it seems to really divide readers, and you should probably start with Journey By Moonlight anyway.)Will
Wonderful collection. Love the second one down especially.
A great blog site - I'm so lucky to have fallen upon it so soon after starting one. You have an amazing range! I have mentioned your blog and included it in my list!
This is a treasure trove of amazing design. Poland really had some wicked designers. I've been looking at old vintage crime paperback covers, but mostly american, 40s 50s stuff.
Thanks so much for this! Im currently doing a project on book jackets for crime novels and these are such great inspiration! Love your blog!
Book by Jonathan Stagge is not polish, but german.
