un post con bastantes nutrientes visuales XD
You may know that the Keith Tippett moth woman is by Roger Dean. I was completely obsessed with his work when I was 14, all his album cover art is permanently etched on my brain. Can't wait to see the Orchideengarten interiors!
Wow, great post!As a New Zealander, I love to see you including artwork by Omit (Clinton Williams) and Dadamah (Kim Pieters). I have a decent collection of Omit releases, including some of his early cassettes, many of which feature Williams’ characteristic, bulbous monsters. I’m inspired to scan some of this material and post it on my own blog … I also had a shock of recognition over the other pics. I love Lambkin’s art, and am currently in the throes of a HUGE Shadow Ring obsession. ‘Salvador Kali’ is also one of my fav albums, and I just love that Schizo 7”! Amazing!Jared
thanks for your comments.John, I hadn't known -- or had forgotten -- the moth woman was by Roger Dean. I have always loved his album covers.Jared, get in touch if you post the Omit scans. I lucked out and got the Quad box when it was released, though I missed all the cassettes. I hope someone releases Salvador Kali on vinyl someday -- the LP-only guys have no idea what they've been missing.
Such wonderful imagery! Would you consider contributing a guest gallery to Hard Format, the music design website I publish?
A Hard Format gallery sounds like a fun project! Thanks.
Wuh oh, Will's starting to pull stuff off his office shelves to scan. Who knows where this will lead us, or what beer will be spilled on next...
I rediscover my records every time my itunes crashes. (Vicky, let's pretend it's the 90s and make a mix-tape together and then spill beer on it.)
Will--I want to thank you for introducing me to Sir Richard Bishop. I think Salvidor Kali has just become one of my favorite albums too.
clearly venturing outside the limits is a darn good thing... some great stuff! (and i've never seen that tape with eno and hayward, something i must hear... so it seems it is not only ABE you continually send us towards, but also the used record store... thanks!)
