(early work from graphic design titan)
Italian Art Deco: Graphic Design Between the Wars (Chronicle Books, 1993) was part of a Chronicle series of books on international modern graphic design, edited by Steven Heller with various co-editors (for this volume, Louise Fili). Unfortunately the series is out-of-print, but Euro Deco collects images from some of the volumes.
While I sometimes have a negative response to this style (over-exposure to mass-market French deco posters for college students), I love these images and the ones from the recent Japanese book cover posts. I look forward to researching the designers featured in the book.
Also see Bartolozzi's deco Pinocchio.

These are amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Interesting stuff. If they had shown me this as an example of art deco in high school I would have gotten it a lot faster. I just stumbled onto your blog and I love it! you seem to have a great appreciation for graphic nostalgia. I'm inspired to read through the archives.
The first few ads are super creepy!
