Alan Cober is one of my favorites. Thanks for the terrific find. I highly recommend trying to get your paws on the book The Forgotten Society by Alan Cober.....its a bygone gem.
Oh, thank you for a quick trip back to my childhood. I've always wondered why children's books today fall flat to me (I worked at Border's for a while - even then, the kids' section was a favorite spot). Loved The Mermaid.
Nicole Claveloux deserves more exposure to anglophones, she did some great kid's stuff with Harlan Quist and her adult BD work in Metal Hurlant/heavy Metal was crack-a-lackin'!

ReplyDeleteAll this illustrations are great (so many memories!), but the psychedelic reformulation of "Jack & Jill" is just hilarious!
ReplyDeleteWow! These picturs are pretty trippy, but I have to say I like them all the same. The Jack and Jill one made me laugh :P

ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to check out this flickr group. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun illustrations. The excerpts with texts are especially good!
