  1. Orchids, disease, corpses, monsters: sounds a bit like a Psychic TV album cover. A tempting offer, that Kubin book. What did he say, ah yes "the demiurge is a hybrid", I think that was it. Or was it hybird?

  4. Oh, wouldn't it be nice to have Genesis P-Orridge submit a bookplate.

    Singeon, can't eff-in wait for your submission.

    Cherie, here's the submission info (with my email address). Short version: just email me a jpeg before Halloween.

    * Submission deadline: 10/14/09.
    * Feature date: the week leading up to Halloween, which is on Saturday 10/31.
    * Artwork size: though your work could be any size, some common bookplate sizes are 4" x 6", 3-1/2" x 5", and 4" x 3-1/3" (and if you happen to scan your artwork, you know I like to feature images which can be viewed at large sizes)
    * Color or black & white
    * File type: 300 dpi jpg. (In case I beg you to let me print the work as an actual bookplate -- in this case it would need to be 300 dpi.)
    * send to ajourneyroundmyskull AT gmail (I will confirm all emails)

  5. does it have to include all the elements listed -- orchids, other flowers, corpses, giant insects, monsters, disease -- or just some of these? thanks! love the blog :)

  6. Anonymous, it can include only one of those elements. Or none -- really, I'm just looking for things in the spirit of the magazine, so somewhat ghoulish or fantastic.

    Thanks,
    Will

  9. I'll submit! Found you via Etsy (http://marvelousa.etsy.com); the beard thing is too great.

    Did you happen to see the orchid feature in the current issue of National Geographic, from whence I shall draw inspiration?
