Just discovered this post about Duvanel because I have a German edition of one of her books that I'm trying to sell and found out on Amazon that it's actually quite valuable. Wondering why, I looked for more information. A sad but common occurence that a poverty-stricken artist's work becomes posthumously valuable. Thinking I should donate the money receive from selling the book.
W.O.W. Thank you for this profile of Adelheid Duvanel. Such a horrible life. Like a bird in the dust on the roadside, I wish I could have picked her up and brought her some peace or comfort.
Thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteWow. Truly extraordinary.
ReplyDeleteThank you both. The publisher is allowing me to include a story, so watch for it in a day or two.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are helping to spread the word. We have Gilbert Alter-Gilbert to thank -- I would have missed Duvanel completely without him.
