Pen-and-ink and watercolor drawing by Toyen, dated 1931, inscribed to Paul Eluard in April 1935 when he attended the International Surrealist Exhibition of Prague with Breton.
I'm afraid to look at my 2008 blog to-do list because I only have 11 days to get to everything. But I should definitely be able to scan something from Panama. Thanks for the reminder.
'tis beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSay, do you think the scans of Panama will make it up on the blog? Or are they up arleady, somewhere?
I am quite interested to see the illustrations of John Dos Passos.
Best,

ReplyDeleteExcellent Blog!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you find this one? I've only come across the black-and-white non-inscribed version before.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure in an old Christies catalog, but I recently also noticed it in the 2-volume book Surrealism: Two Private Eyes.
ReplyDeleteOK, I hadn't really looked over the book in any detail, though a friend of mine has a copy.
