You've done it again... your Soviet book collection is simply awesome, and I am in love with all of these animals... well, maybe some more than others!
These animals are so beautiful! They remind me of the Hungarian children's books illustrator Karoly Reich. He used to draw peasant life scenes with a lot of traditional ornaments too and the same typical animals like wolf, fox, cat and chicken. These illustrations are beautiful. There is something dark about childrens fairytales, just wrote a small post on Grimms tales as I'm reading their stuff at the moment. Your insight into childrens writing and illustration is really interesting. Thanks for the post! Helena
