Yes, we had a lot of freedom when working with CRM Publishers in Del Mar, CA (Psychology Today magazine) those days...Phil Kirkland and I were quite in the psychedelic mode especially half the time...LOL! Some of the other books I illustrated for them were 'Anthropology Today', 'Psychology Today', etc. I was in my early 20's and it was truly a great time!
