Re: Shigehara's poster for an American book, the title, as represented by the big characters (katakana and hiragana), seems to be Dakota yo Saraba, which (I think) means Dakota Farewell, or Goodbye to Dakota, or something similar. I don't know if that helps at all, as I've never heard of a book with a title like that, but FWIW, as they say ...
Sometimes I just hold my breath! One trick is to never use the scanner cover, but instead gently press on the book (the area you are scanning) with another book.
There are also plenty of books I just won't scan because I would hurt them.
Ah, so you just use a regular scanner then...it seems like I can never get the page to lie flat, let alone scan the whole area I want. Thanks for answering!
Were you able to find a copy for under $150? I've been looking around for one, but the prices tend to be quite steep.
