Thanks for posting this fascinating - and indeed epic - post - it has really got me thinking. I love the idea of writerly dress in particular. have you read "Among the bohemians - experiments in living 1900-1939"? I have just finished it and intend to post on it as soon as I can - it has a whoel section on dress.
Amazing post!! I could certainly use a writer's chamber or, even better, an intimidating stone tower of my own where no one would disturb me while I worked...or even while I napped ;) Best, Tara http://nothing-elegant.blogspot.com
Your picture of an insperon, as you probably aware, is actually a picture of a subway car. Your 'lucabration cabnet' is a patient in an iron lung. The Nooklopia is a picture of a diving helmet. Where does truth begin and fiction end on this blog?
Epic.
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe. Gilbert Alter-Gilbert is my new hero.
ReplyDeleteThis will take some days to digest.

ReplyDeleteI was enthralled by Tor House when I visited.
I'm visiting via Chateau Thombeau.
First I lost myself in this, then I found myself in this... Best Journey Ever...
ReplyDeleteIf I were a writer, I would choose Rene Crevel as my main accoutrement.
