The highest literary award in Italy is the "Witch" prize - interesting. Bontempelli - almost sounds like "let the good times roll" My 9 year old daughter is learning chess and italian so this will be perfect reading for her.
Just to clarify, the "Witch" prize, established in 1947, is actually named after the Strega liquor company which has always sponsored it. The liquor is produced in Benevento, a legendary witches' stronghold, from a secret recipe mixing about 70 different herbs and spices, hence the name...
Commented on the wrong post! Had meant to mention that the theme of chess and mirrors is very similar to Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass." Designer Reilly Stroope and I just released a shirt inspired by that book last Wednesday.
