  1. Wow--it's nice to see some images that play with the alien-ness of the idea of another planet, rather than going the usual route Burroughs' illustrators go, which is to concentrate on the nude, red-skinned Martian chicks.

    Usually I try to locate a copy of a book before I post about it -- but I didn't (couldn't) this time, and now it looks like I've alerted some ebay folks to its existence and I'll never get my grubby paws on it. (The dangers of book blogging.)

    But this post got some metafilter love, and that felt real good.
