Upside-Down Kite

Endnote discovery: note to page 268 of Collected Works II by Jarry:

"Jarry wrote of God being symbolized in the triangle of an 'upside-down kite' engraved by Dürer. (cf. Perhinderion, 2, OC I, p. 998)."

Can anyone direct me to this engraving?

  1. No engraving comes to mind but there may be an engraved version of this:

which is kite-like enough for Terry Gilliam to have made merry with it.

  2. Perhaps this woodcut … not quite a kite symbol but rather a God-Kite itself.

  3. mahendra's suggestion is interesting.

Remember that a kite is also a bird.

  4. It took a few minutes for my brain to process the crucifixion-stigmata-kite.

    Once again: Wow!

  5. I am curious, what did Jarry write in the original French?

  6. I'm going to try to find the translator to track this down.

I have the Spencer Museum of Art Jarry print catalog, which would probably give the answer to my own question, but unfortunately its buried in a box which won't be found or opened for a few weeks.
