I do wonder, though, if this particular picture was included in the book to scare teenagers away from making babies. It's like showing Eraserhead tending to his baby as a picture of a happy family.

My junior year Chemistry textbook (Philly public school, early 90s) was actually way more out-of-date. I wish we would have made it to the 70s.
