  1. I never realized that axlotls are so cute! It gives the story a slightly different cast when I think of them looking so muppet-like.

  3. I actually read the first paragraph of the story, googled axolotl and saw these images, and then finished the story. I think the smiling muppet-like image made the story even more disturbing. I can't wait to stare at these creatures in my local aquarium, though I'll keep a healthy distance.

  4. It is 3pm, and I will now spend the rest of my day carefully deciding which creature is more unfathomable, the axolotl or the sea horse.
    Also, your pink fingertips in the "152 Proverbs" photos now have a creepy ocean-bottom glow.
