Rottensteiner's Fantasy Book was my principal guide for years to the byways of the literary world.

Regarding publishers of the fantastic in the UK, there are a few more besides the venerable Dedalus. Tartarus started out reprinting Arthur Machen but have evolved into a quality publisher of rare ghost stories and landmark reprints of the work of Robert Aickman. David Tibet's Durtro company have produced reissues of some of his cult volumes. New imprint Side Real Press are reissuing Mrs Molesworth and titles by Hanns Heinz Ewers. Finally, my colleagues at Savoy Books have published a number of fantasy works in recent years, including novels by David Britton, a lavish reissue of David Lindsay's Voyage to Arcturus and also Maurice Richardson's eccentric comic tales, The Exploits of Engelbrecht. The latter title--one of Ballard's favourite books, incidentally--is currently being reprinted in a new edition for publication later in the year.John Coultharthttp://www.johncoulthart.com/feuilleton/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2402275990823741920.post-71543788396378294582010-03-13T12:16:18.939-05:002010-03-13T12:16:18.939-05:00Oh, this is marvelous, quite!
